Thinking Back

n368 thinking back blog
The first thing I want to do tonight is say a big thank you to all of you who take the time to follow me here, on Flickr and/or on Facebook.  It was less than a month ago that I was thanking everyone for helping me reach 2500 followers on Flickr.  I almost passed out today when I saw I had hit 3000 followers.  All of you really do humble me with so many of you enjoying my writing and photography.  Thank you so much. ♥

I have also had a recently spike with followers here on WordPress, with a significant percentage of them being real life WordPress accounts…not SL blogs.  I’ll be honest, I was shocked early on that anyone outside of my circle of friends wanted to read what I wrote, so the fact that so many of you have supported me here too means more than you can imagine.  Thank you all, again, for giving me a forum to share, free of judgement.

Now…on to what I originally intended to write about tonight…

I didn’t have anything major planned for tonight  I will say I feel a huge weight has been taken off my shoulders as senior administration has approved a part time position for the employee situation I wrote about the other day.  I am getting everything finalized with HR tomorrow and hopefully I can move this one employee to part time, let her keep her benefits for up to three months, and we can bring someone into her position.  I was able to make that middle ground work! 🙂

The other thing…I’ve been thinking a lot about what I have been writing lately.  Most of it has been a bit more serious and emotional.  Well, I am tired of everything being so serious.  Granted, I have always been a bit more serious in my interactions with this world, but I want to add a little humor to this blog.

As serious as I tend to get, I will say that transitioning is also filled with many cute and hilarious moments.  Sometimes it is easy to forget those moments as you deal with everything else.  I had a really sweet reminder of this the other afternoon.  I was talking to a friend who is transitioning female to male.  He and I were laughing, shared pics of where each of us is physically and we were commenting on the other’s picture.  He was telling me how he could see my face softening and female features coming out.  I was telling him how his jawline was becoming more rigid and prominent.  I was giggling the whole time.  It was a great reminder of those funny moments on this journey.

So yeah, after re-evaluating things, I thought it would be good to add a little humor at my expense.  Hopefully those moments will bring a smile to your face and you can laugh with me for the stupid shit I do now and the weird things that happen.  Hopefully, it will help add a more human side to all of this.

Again, thank you all for your ongoing support, follows, likes and shares.  It truly does mean so much to me. ♥
