With New Years upon us, I wanted to write a short message to all of you as we celebrate the old theme of “out with the old, in with the new.”
I hope all of you find the blessings and happiness you seek as we begin the new year. So many of you have had such an impact on my life in 2018 and I will be forever grateful for that. While our cares and woes do not go away with the change of the year, our attitude and perspective of the world can always change. I hope each of you sees the new year as something symbolic…the idea that it is never too late to do things better and make new opportunities for ourselves. All of us have so much love to give this world and seeing so many of you share that love not just with me, but everyone in your lives is something beautiful.
I remember a quote I heard once that has always stuck with me. I wish I could remember where it came from so if anyone knows who I should credit, please let me know. Its simple though and it goes something like this:
My hope for you is that one day you will look in the mirror and see yourself the same way I do.
With all of the things we could hope for in the coming year…health, happiness, financial security, success, etc…this is my hope for all of us. So many of us have these beautiful souls which we bring to the world. So many of us never see the light we shine upon others because of the damage people in our past have caused us. I know that for those important to me, I see your light shining through no matter how damaged or broken you may feel. I pray one day you will hold up that mirror and see what I see…the same way I know you hope that for me.
Now, its time for this girl to get showered and packed for a trip to Charlottesville. I get to celebrate my new years with family, including the most precious 9 year old nephew a girl like me could hope for. Whoever you have or will spend your New Years with, I hope they are people who enrich your life and make your days better.
Thank you, all of you, for the love and support you have shown me in 2018. I wish all of you love, peace and growth in 2019 and the years to come. I will see you all next year! ♥
